Inner Upset

Often in life we find ourselves upset.  Our first attempt at a solution to this upset is to make some kind of change.  The change we often make is external.  We change something outside of ourselves.

I’m unhappy at work so I’ll look for new work or a new way to work.  I don’t like the way I feel when I look in the mirror.  I don’t like how I look. I’m too fat, too skinny, too short, too tall, not pretty,  it’s my hair etc.  So you go on a diet, buy beautiful high heels, adopt a drastically different hair style etc.  The change may provide a welcome shift in your feelings, temporarily. This works because the new fix brings up different feelings within you. External fixes do not fix the internal upset trigger point of the original upset.  A few months into your new fix up you have other issues that makes you unhappy.

Changing the outside doesn’t change the inside.

You can become free of the upset by understanding it’s cause and changing the way you view it.

See this upset in a new way.

3 Freeing Thoughts:

Feelings are yours … the full complement of them. You were taught to like some and dislike others. Situations, people, your own thoughts trigger the emergence of feelings you have inside.

No one can make you feel anything because your feelings originate within you.  No one can give you a feeling that you don’t already have (ones you like or dislike.)

Thoughts come first and then feelings emerge. This is why changing your thoughts is so effective in Being Happy No Matter What.

Learning the true cause of your upset, adopting new thinking about it and strategically applying the appreciation of your strengths is what will change your inner upset.
